PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nester Asterix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papa Smurf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smurf has chosen Ante Up as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smurf throws a shot to the body.
Smurf misses with a hook. Asterix ducked under it nicely.
Smurf lands a jab to the head.
Smurf fails to land with a series of punches.

Asterix shoots in and bounces Smurf off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Asterix is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Smurf wants to stand up but Asterix is controlling him.
Smurf controls Asterix momentarily but Asterix frees himself.

Asterix thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Asterix is looking to work some ground and pound but Smurf has wrist control.
Asterix slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Asterix is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Smurf has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Asterix tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Asterix has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Asterix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nester Asterix will probably get the nod.

Smurf slaps away a takedown attempt from Asterix, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smurf throws a right and a left that Asterix avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smurf throws a right hand that Asterix ducks under and follows up with a left that Asterix also avoids with ease.
Asterix takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

I would just about give that final round to Papa Smurf.
I think Asterix has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
