PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rico Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Swag In A Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes into the arena with Childish Gambino - R.I.P. blaring out of the sound system. Bag has chosen American bad ass as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rico Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Swag In A Bag!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bag lands with an overhand left.
Bag takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sanchez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bag.
Sanchez is looking to clinch but Bag is avoiding it.
Sanchez misses with a two punch combination.
Bag takes a swing at Sanchez's ribcage but misses.
Bag throws a head kick that misses.
Bag ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sanchez moves away.

Sanchez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bag is trying to stand.
Sanchez wants to control but Bag is keeping him busy.
Sanchez passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bag takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bag trying desperately to get to his feet.
Sanchez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bag is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Sanchez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sanchez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bag has worked his arm free - good work by Bag!

Sanchez is trying to get an arm triangle but Bag is defending well.

Sanchez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bag is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sanchez misses with the ground and pound.

Sanchez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bag wants to get back to his feet.

Bag throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Sanchez thuds his right hand into Bag's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Bag tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bag manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bag tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanchez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice jab there from Bag.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Bag sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rico Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bag swings for the body but Sanchez moves out of range.
Sanchez misses with a jab, cross combination.

Sanchez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bag manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Sanchez clinches up with Bag and pushes him back against the cage.
Bag wants to break free but Sanchez has control.
Sanchez utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanchez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bag avoids it.
Sanchez wants a takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Sanchez tries to score a body lock takedown but Bag shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sanchez has Bag pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bag manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bag's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanchez fails to land with a series of punches.
Sanchez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt.
Sanchez fails with the takedown
and Bag counters with a slapping leg kick.
Sanchez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A combination from Bag does no damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sanchez walks into a straight right hand from Bag.
Bag connects with a crisp jab.
Bag throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Sanchez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Swag In A Bag will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sanchez takes one to the chin there.
Bag smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Bag connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


Sanchez is rocked!
Bag connects with a body shot.
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bag paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bag lands a glancing blow to the side of Sanchez's head.
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanchez gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Bag gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Swag In A Bag!
In his post fight interview, Swag In A Bag gave a big smile as he said 'Just like to thank my hands for being so great, without them none of this would be possible. '.
