PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rin Itoshiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Itoshiki comes into the arena with Hito toshite Jiku ga Bureteiru (SZS Mod. Rap ver.) blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rin Itoshiki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Itoshiki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hogan fails with a takedown attempt.

Hogan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Itoshiki quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hogan looks to land a strike but Itoshiki avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Itoshiki wants to stand but Hogan is controlling the position.
Itoshiki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Hogan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Itoshiki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hogan, into his guard.

Hogan working for a triangle but Itoshiki defends it easily.
Itoshiki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Itoshiki wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
Hogan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Itoshiki controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rin Itoshiki.

Itoshiki forces Hogan back against the cage and clinches.
Knees in the clinch landing for Itoshiki.
Hogan takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut.
Itoshiki lands an elbow that stopped Hogan in his tracks for a moment.

Itoshiki breaks from the clinch.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Itoshiki sprawls well. Itoshiki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hogan gets slowly back to his feet.
Rin Itoshiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Hogan.
Hogan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Itoshiki pinned against the cage. Itoshiki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Itoshiki scores with a punch to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hogan fails with a takedown attempt.
Itoshiki looks for a takedown but Hogan sprawls well.

Hogan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Itoshiki regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Itoshiki pushes Hogan off and scrambles back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Itoshiki drives through and clinches with Hogan against the cage.
Hogan takes an elbow to the forehead.


That has opened up Hulk Hogan's cut even more.
Itoshiki with a knee to the head.


The cut above Hulk Hogan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Itoshiki landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Itoshiki creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hogan's defenses.

Itoshiki jumps guard and drags Hogan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Itoshiki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Itoshiki pulls Hogan in close to prevent any damage.
Hogan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hogan tries to free his leg and advance position but Itoshiki is retaining full guard.

Itoshiki uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Itoshiki stuffs the takedown.
Hogan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Itoshiki wants to clinch up but Hogan keeps it at a distance.
Hogan looks for a takedown but Itoshiki sprawls well.
Itoshiki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hogan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Itoshiki's waist but Itoshiki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hogan off to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Itoshiki with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


Hulk Hogan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hulk Hogan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Rin Itoshiki!
Rin Itoshiki tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
