Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reggie Turner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Turner!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Turner has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jones's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jones avoiding damage.
Turner is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Turner keeps him there for the moment.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Turner has him pressed against the cage.
Turner is struggling to control the position.
The crowd are getting on Turner's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Turner is controlling him.
Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones can't break the clinch.
Turner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A punch combination from Jones misses.

Turner throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turner sprawls well. Turner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Turner tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones lands an overhand right.
Turner throws a head kick that Jones semi-blocks.


It looks like Don Jones has been cut.

Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Turner to the ground. Jones is now in Turner's guard.
Turner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jones tries to hold on but Turner pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Turner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Turner controlling the pace for now.
Jones is trying to stand.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Turner's attempts to control the action.
Jones is desperately trying to improve his position but Turner has a good base and remains in mount.
Jones tries to hold on but Turner postures up.
Jones is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jones's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Turner sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Jones is trying to escape the mount.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Turner's attempts to control the action.
Turner looking to finish with strikes here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is looking to get to half guard.
Turner tries to control but Jones wriggling away.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Turner looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turner looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Turner prevents Jones from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Jones will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Don Jones's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Turner swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones avoids the head kick by Turner.
Turner misses with a head kick.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones scores with a nice body kick.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.
Jones misses with a knee to the head.
Turner stalling in the clinch but Jones improves position.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Turner throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.
Jones takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A left and a right from Jones both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Reggie Turner has been cut.
Don Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Turner stuffs the takedown.
Turner fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jones throws a leg kick which misses Turner's front leg but catches the back leg as Turner tries to avoid it.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Turner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Turner lands a jab.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones is looking to clinch but Turner is avoiding it.
Jones looks for the body kick but Turner saw that one coming.
Turner misses with a wild body shot.
Reggie Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turner pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jones throws a series of punches but Turner moves out of range.
Turner leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turner is looking to clinch.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Turner scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jones with a nice cross.
Turner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Turner cracks Jones with an open hand slap.
Turner tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Turner.
Turner throws a head kick that misses.
Jones wants to clinch.
Turner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Turner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Turner scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jab, jab by Turner - just one landing.
Reggie Turner seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jones is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.

Jones misses with a few strikes there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Turner throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Turner slips the punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Reggie Turner will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Turner is doing well to control the position and prevent Jones from advancing to side control.
Jones takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Turner is trying to stand.

Jones is looking for a kimura but Turner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
Turner tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Turner tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Jones stops Turner from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones wants to pass to mount but Turner is defending the position.
Turner is holding on to half guard well.

Turner is looking to escape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Turner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Turner throws a right hand that misses
and Turner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Turner misses with a two punch combination.
Turner throws a head kick that misses.
Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Turner seems unphased.
A big left from Turner misses.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Turner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Turner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Good work by Turner as he checks the leg kick.

Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turner.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Turner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turner napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Turner manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Turner wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.

Turner is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Turner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
Jones blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turner.
Turner passes into side control, despite Jones's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones bucks up and tries to throw Turner off but instead Turner has got his back!

Turner patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Jones is trying to remain composed but Turner is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Turner wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.
Turner keeps control of the position easily here as Jones tries to buck him off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turner is looking to control Jones but Jones is wriggling around and keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Reggie Turner.
I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
