Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Hugh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Hugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alan Pitbull!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitbull dives in and grabs Hugh's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hugh pushes down on Pitbull's head and hops out.
Pitbull throws a series of punches but Hugh moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Hugh or perhaps it was just good defense by Pitbull which made him look bad.

Hugh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pitbull throws a big right hand that misses.
Hugh wants to stand but Pitbull is controlling the position.

Hugh pushes Pitbull off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hugh closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hugh shoots in but Pitbull avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Pitbull closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Pitbull pulls Hugh into guard.
Pitbull striking off his back but it's not causing Hugh any problems.
Pitbull trying to keep a closed guard but Hugh is proving a slippery customer.

Hugh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pitbull on the ground.
Pitbull controls Hugh momentarily but Hugh frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pitbull shoots in for a takedown but Hugh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pitbull is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hugh shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Hugh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hugh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pitbull but Pitbull pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alan Pitbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hugh defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pitbull.

Hugh drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
You can see the frustration on Pitbull's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hugh is looking to take a break and control but Pitbull is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pitbull tries to buck Hugh off but Hugh is having none of it.

Hugh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pitbull keeps working.

Mike Hugh has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hugh shoots in and drives through. Pitbull sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hugh.

Hugh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pitbull tries to avoid it but Hugh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pitbull to the ground. Pitbull escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pitbull fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pitbull closes the distance and pushes Hugh back into the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alan Pitbull will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Pitbull shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pitbull throws some wild stikes that Hugh manages to avoid easily.
Hugh is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pitbull cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hugh is bucking up trying to escape but Pitbull cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Pitbull tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pitbull punching from mount but Hugh doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Pitbull scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hugh?
Pitbull sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hugh is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hugh is looking to improve his position but Pitbull isn't that keen on the idea.

I would just about give that final round to Alan Pitbull.
Well Pitbull has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
