Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henry Kilmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seppo Hovi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seppo Hovi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Kilmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seppo Hovi!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovi throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Hovi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hovi grinds an elbow into Kilmer's temple.
Kilmer taking a bit of punishment here - Hovi scoring with strikes.
Kilmer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kilmer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hovi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hovi is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Kilmer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hovi scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hovi is keen to just control but Kilmer is a slippery customer.

Kilmer tries to get to full guard but Hovi has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hovi stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kilmer to get to his feet.
Kilmer is breathing heavily.
Kilmer doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hovi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Hovi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kilmer regains guard immediately.
Hovi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hovi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hovi stands and steps away. Kilmer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hovi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hovi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kilmer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Kilmer working for a triangle but Hovi defends it easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kilmer is on top in guard.
Hovi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kilmer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kilmer drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kilmer as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Hovi screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kilmer! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Henry Kilmer!
