The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Smith throws a combination that misses
and Samson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith swings for the body but Samson moves out of range.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Samson slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A jab from Smith does it's job there.
Smith drops his hands momentarily and Samson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Smith throws a series of punches but Samson moves out of range.
Samson throws a shot to the body.
Samson misses with an uppercut.
Samson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Smith displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Smith misses with the combination.

Samson throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
Samson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Danga de danga de dang - Smith scores with a four punch combination!
Samson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Samson throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Samson lands a really nice looking cross but Smith seems unphased.

It looks like Aaron Smith has been cut.
Samson throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith throws a hook but Samson blocks it.
Smith tries to bum rush Samson with a series of wild strikes but Samson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith stalks Samson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Samson's face. Samson staggers backwards, shaken.
Samson takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.

Samson cracks Smith with a big right hand and Smith goes down!

Smith is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Samson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Samson arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Smith's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Long Haired Samson! Long Haired Samson retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, Long Haired Samson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
