Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Van Rerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dias has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Lucas Dias has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Dias!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rerra dives in and grabs Dias's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dias pushes down on Rerra's head and hops out.
Van Rerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dias looks gassed!

Rerra gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dias takes a knee to the side of the body.
Rerra lands a good knee to the midsection. Dias won't want to take too many of those.

Rerra gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rerra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dias is staying active underneath Rerra, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lucas Dias wasn't active enough on the ground.

Rerra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dias paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rerra.
Rerra shoots in looking for a takedown but Dias manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rerra's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dias fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rerra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dias paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Van Rerra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
