Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Masakatsu Kumamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jozef Pilsudzki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jozef Pilsudzki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masakatsu Kumamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jozef Pilsudzki!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kumamoto shoots in and bounces Pilsudzki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kumamoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kumamoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pilsudzki working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kumamoto has passed into half guard!

Pilsudzki manages to get to full guard.

Pilsudzki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kumamoto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kumamoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Pilsudzki is retaining full guard.

Kumamoto drops back looking for a leg! Pilsudzki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pilsudzki manages to kick Kumamoto off! Kumamoto jumps back into Pilsudzki's guard.

Pilsudzki is looking for a triangle but Kumamoto pushes his legs off easily.

Kumamoto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Kumamoto passes into half guard.
Kumamoto winds up and cracks Pilsudzki with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pilsudzki tries to roll over but Kumamoto keeps him under control.

Pilsudzki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pilsudzki.

Pilsudzki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kumamoto is one step ahead there.
Pilsudzki controls Kumamoto momentarily but Kumamoto frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Masakatsu Kumamoto will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pilsudzki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pilsudzki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kumamoto.
Pilsudzki lands with a nice combination. Kumamoto backs away looking to recover.

Kumamoto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Oh Kumamoto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kumamoto cracks Pilsudzki with a big elbow.
Pilsudzki regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kumamoto's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Kumamoto seems to have got his legs back now.
Pilsudzki is trying to control but can't.
Kumamoto is just content to waste time from the top position. Pilsudzki takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Pilsudzki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pilsudzki has a closed guard, preventing Kumamoto from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kumamoto won't allow Pilsudzki to sweep him here.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kumamoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Pilsudzki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kumamoto is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pilsudzki.

Pilsudzki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kumamoto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Pilsudzki is tightening it up a little... Kumamoto has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kumamoto reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kumamoto taps out! nice BJJ there by Pilsudzki!
