PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Quincy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grisha Kamenow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quincy comes to the cage accompanied by Not Afraid. Kamenow is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linkin Park - Bleed It Out. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Quincy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grisha Kamenow!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quincy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kamenow lands with a nice combination. Quincy backs away looking to recover.
Quincy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kamenow has a takedown stuffed.
Kamenow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Quincy throws out the jab.
Quincy's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kamenow under the eye.
Nice defenses there by Kamenow.
Quincy cracks Kamenow with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Quincy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kamenow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quincy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Quincy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kamenow bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kamenow tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Kamenow is trying to get an arm triangle but Quincy is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kamenow is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Quincy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Quincy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kamenow is controlling him well.

Quincy throws Kamenow to one side and escapes!
Quincy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kamenow.

Quincy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kamenow looking for a sweep. Not yet Kamenow, not yet.
Quincy wants to control from the top but Kamenow keeps moving.
Kamenow is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kamenow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Quincy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamenow on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Quincy won't allow Kamenow to sweep him here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Quincy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A head kick misses from Kamenow.
Quincy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kamenow scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Kamenow swings around for an armbar but Quincy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kamenow's guard.
Quincy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamenow swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Quincy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Quincy trying to control but Kamenow is working from the bottom.
Kamenow managing to control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kamenow looking for a sweep. Not yet Kamenow, not yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Quincy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kamenow's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alexander Quincy just wasn't active enough.
Quincy tries to clinch there but Kamenow circles away.
Horrible takedown by Kamenow or perhaps it was just good defense by Quincy which made him look bad.

Kamenow stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kamenow wants it to stay on the feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kamenow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Quincy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Grisha Kamenow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kamenow lands a jab.
Quincy lands a jab to the nose.
Kamenow goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Quincy looks to land a right hand but Kamenow moved out of range.
Quincy doesn't manage to clinch there - Kamenow circles away.
Kamenow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quincy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kamenow somewhat.
Kamenow shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quincy pinned against the cage. Quincy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Quincy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kamenow.
Quincy throws a shot from downtown. Kamenow moves away and avoids it.
Alexander Quincy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kamenow moves out of range as Quincy strikes.
Kamenow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Grisha Kamenow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Quincy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kamenow tries to avoid it but Quincy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kamenow to the ground. Kamenow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Quincy's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kamenow under the eye.

Quincy throws the left hand but Kamenow avoids the punch easily.

Quincy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Quincy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kamenow moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kamenow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kamenow has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Quincy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kamenow misses with a knee to the head.

Kamenow gets control of Quincy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kamenow will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kamenow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quincy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kamenow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Quincy's guard.

Kamenow drops back, looking for a kneebar! Quincy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Quincy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Quincy!
Kamenow tries to bench press Quincy off him but Quincy keeps the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Quincy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kamenow keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Grisha Kamenow.
I've got Kamenow winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
