Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Vegata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Picard is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Picard Song. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegata fails with a takedown attempt.
Vegata darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Picard trying to hold on to Vegata's head to control him but Vegata postures up.
Picard gets back to full guard.
Picard looking to control.
Vegata is looking to work some ground and pound but Picard has wrist control.
Picard has momentary wrist control but Vegata slips an elbow through the middle.
Picard looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vegata looking to sit in guard and control but Picard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Picard trying to control the position from guard on top but Vegata is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Picard pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vegata is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vegata keeping moving, preventing Picard from controlling successfully.

Picard trying to control but Vegata is working from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jean Luc Picard wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vegata looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Picard is trying to get back to full guard.
Vegata throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Vegata wants to pass to mount but Picard is defending the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Picard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Vegata postures up in Picard's guard and throws a big left but Picard blocks it.
Picard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Picard is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Vegata rolls with it to try and escape but Picard cranks on the arm and Vegata is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
