The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilmore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Griffin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gilmore is working away from the top position though.

Gilmore slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gilmore changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to avoid it but Gilmore manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griffin to the ground. Griffin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
