Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anderson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy McFadden!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McFadden clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the ropes.
Silva has McFadden pressed against the ropes, preventing McFadden from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McFadden's efforts to push away.
McFadden is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position.
McFadden tries to pull guard but Silva forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
McFadden is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
McFadden tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
Silva tries to land knees in the clinch but McFadden avoids the damage to the body.
McFadden on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
McFadden is trying to break the clinch but Silva is controlling him.
McFadden blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

McFadden tries to work over Silva's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
McFadden is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Silva is defending well.
Anderson Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy McFadden.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McFadden goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Silva rolls with the submission and now he's on top in McFadden's guard! Nice work there by Silva!
Andy McFadden has got the better of the ground game so far.

McFadden is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
McFadden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

McFadden has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McFadden.
McFadden is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

McFadden gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
McFadden moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McFadden lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!

McFadden lands a big shot there that rocks Silva but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
McFadden has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McFadden misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Poor strikes thrown by McFadden there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

McFadden loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Silva scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from McFadden land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. McFadden stands and salutes the crowd.

Andy McFadden decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
