PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Murth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Vesque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murth comes to the cage accompanied by Enemy. Rene Vesque struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murth moves out of range as Vesque strikes.
Murth scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Vesque is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vesque is not content to let Murth control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vesque is still in real trouble! Can Murth finish him?
Murth lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Vesque down.

A lull in the action here as Murth stalls from top position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Murth throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Murth connects with a nice short shot to Vesque's temple.
Vesque tries to roll over but Murth keeps him under control.
Murth is trying to control. Vesque wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Murth missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Murth is pressing down on Vesque's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vesque is holding on for now.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Murth in particular looking to stall.

Murth wants to take a breather but Vesque is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Murth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vesque does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Vesque is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Murth scores with a couple of nice shots.
Murth moves nicely into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Murth cracks a nice hook into Vesque's ribs.
Vesque throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Murth.
Murth lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Rene Vesque has been cut.

Vesque gets caught napping as Murth dives in and scores a takedown. Vesque manages to retain guard.
Murth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vesque's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Murth seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vesque for as long as he can get away with.
Murth's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Murth won't allow Vesque to get back to his feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Murth wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Vesque throws a right hand that misses

and Murth counters with a crisp right hand that drops Vesque! Murth lets Vesque back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

enabling Murth to counter with a crisp jab.
Vesque throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Murth counters with a big takedown. That's hurt Vesque! Murth smells blood and goes in for the kill. Serveral hard shots later and the ref calls an end to the fight by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Adam Murth!
Adam Murth seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
