Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Nero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Cruz with that takedown attempt.
Nero works Cruz's body with a nice hook.
Cruz throws a body punch but Nero moves out of range.
Cruz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nero throws a leg kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Nero misses the target.
Nero throws a sloppy head kick and Cruz moves out of range easily.

Cruz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nero is trying to defend but Cruz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Nero tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Nero is not content to let Cruz control the position.

Cruz stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Nero sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lenny Nero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dante Cruz.

Cruz drives through with a takedown into Nero's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nero is trying to control the position but Cruz postures up.

Nero is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cruz rolls with it to try and escape but Nero cranks on the arm and Cruz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
