The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spoon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shimizu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Spoon or perhaps it was just good defense by Shimizu which made him look bad.

Spoon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
