The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negreanu fails with a takedown attempt.
Negreanu fails to land with a series of punches.
Negreanu shoots for a double leg takedown but Michaels sprawls well. He's pushed Negreanu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Michaels pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Michaels stuffs the takedown attempt from Negreanu. Negreanu gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Negreanu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Negreanu gets a takedown into half guard.
Negreanu trying to control from half guard but Michaels is working away.
Negreanu wants to advance to full mount but Michaels doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Michaels wants to stand up but Negreanu is controlling him.

Negreanu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Michaels manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Negreanu has Michaels in his guard.

Negreanu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Michaels rolls with it to try and escape but Negreanu cranks on the arm and Michaels is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
