Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rendo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcinho Guerreiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guerreiro is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: DMX- Ain`t No Sunshine. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rendo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcinho Guerreiro!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerreiro has his takedown stuffed

and Gracie counters by clinching up.
Gracie is pushing Guerreiro up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Gracie has Guerreiro pressed against the cage, preventing Guerreiro from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gracie decides to pull guard.
Gracie wants to get back to his feet but Guerreiro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gracie is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Guerreiro trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Guerreiro is now in half guard.
Guerreiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard.
Guerreiro not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Guerreiro is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Guerreiro is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Marcinho Guerreiro has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Guerreiro tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guerreiro's guard now.

Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Guerreiro is keeping the position for now.

Gracie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Guerreiro trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gracie's guard.
Gracie wants to sweep but no luck.
Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Guerreiro is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie is looking to sweep but instead, Guerreiro has passed into half guard.

Guerreiro is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Guerreiro wants to pass to mount but Gracie is defending the position.
Gracie missing with punches from the bottom.
Guerreiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Guerreiro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We're going to have a standup here because Rendo Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Gracie manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Guerreiro has gone for a leg lock! Gracie slips out almost immediately though and dives into Guerreiro's guard.

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerreiro is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Guerreiro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.

Guerreiro tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.

Guerreiro throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Guerreiro throws a nice inside leg kick.

Rendo Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcinho Guerreiro.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Guerreiro looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gracie is stalling in the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guerreiro doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.

Gracie leaves Guerreiro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Guerreiro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Guerreiro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Guerreiro gets slowly back to his feet.

Guerreiro wants to control but Gracie postures up.

Gracie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Guerreiro is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Guerreiro is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Guerreiro's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rendo Gracie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
