The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Steele, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Finklebaum shoots in looking for a takedown. Steele tries to sprawl out of it but Finklebaum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steele manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Steele cracks Finklebaum with a right hand to the side of the head.
Steele lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Axl Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele lands with a kick to the temple. Finklebaum shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Steele looks to land a combination but Finklebaum avoids it well.
A jab from Steele does it's job there.
Steele stuffs the takedown attempt from Finklebaum. Finklebaum gets slowly back to his feet.

Steele throws a right hand that Finklebaum ducks under and follows up with a left that Finklebaum also avoids with ease.
Finklebaum thows a body shot but no joy.
Steele misses with a two punch combination.
Steele defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Finklebaum.
Finklebaum fails with a takedown attempt.
Finklebaum shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Steele sprawls well. Steele wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Finklebaum gets slowly back to his feet.
Axl Steele is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Steele pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Finklebaum back to the cage. Steele follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Finklebaum will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steele throws a sloppy head kick and Finklebaum moves out of range easily.
Steele throws a nice looking combination but Finklebaum bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Steele connects with a leg kick. Finklebaum looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Finklebaum doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Steele counters with a nice kick to the body.

Finklebaum is breathing heavily.
Finklebaum misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Finklebaum shoots in for a takedown but Steele shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Steele fakes the leg kick and cracks Finklebaum in the body.
Finklebaum gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Finklebaum shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Steele is trying to defend but Finklebaum finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Steele pushes Finklebaum off looking to stand but Finklebaum dives back in and keeps control.

Finklebaum is trying for a kimura here. Steele looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Finklebaum wins by kimura!

Miklos Finklebaum spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
