Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Belcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ollie Melvin Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Belcher had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Belcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ollie Melvin Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Belcher counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Belcher trying to control but Griffin is working from the bottom.
Griffin is trying to control the position but Belcher postures up.

Belcher stands up over Griffin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Belcher works over Griffin with some ground and pound from guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Belcher is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Belcher seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Griffin for as long as he can get away with.
Griffin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Belcher postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Griffin is controlling Belcher's posture.
Belcher with a flurry of punches that miss.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A head kick misses from Belcher.
Belcher looks for a takedown but Griffin sprawls well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Belcher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Griffin was covering up waiting for the punch and Belcher finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Belcher connects with a couple of short punches.
Belcher slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Belcher wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin has momentary wrist control but Belcher slips an elbow through the middle.
Belcher seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bob Belcher just wasn't active enough.
Belcher leaves Griffin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Belcher tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Griffin swivels and escapes.
Griffin tries to clinch there but Belcher circles away.

Belcher wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Belcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Griffin jumps guard but Belcher turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Belcher manages to break the clinch.
Belcher swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffin.

Belcher throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Belcher is in Griffin's guard.
Griffin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Belcher is controlling him.
Griffin looks gassed!
Belcher is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Belcher throwing strikes from guard but Griffin blocks nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin has momentary wrist control but Belcher slips an elbow through the middle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Belcher lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Belcher stands up from Griffin's guard - Belcher perhaps looking for a knockout.

Griffin gets caught flat footed, as Belcher shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Belcher dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Belcher gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Belcher turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Belcher in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Griffin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Belcher landing a few strikes.

The referee asks Belcher politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Belcher prefers to stall for the moment though.

Belcher decides to stand back up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Belcher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.


Griffin is rocked!
Belcher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Griffin can do to turn this around?
Griffin wants to control but Belcher postures up.
Belcher landing a few strikes.
Griffin is still in real trouble! Can Belcher finish him?
Belcher cracks Griffin with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Belcher immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Griffin is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Belcher!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Belcher!
