The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grazies dives in and grabs Simpson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Simpson pushes down on Grazies's head and hops out.

Grazies is trying to drag Simpson to the mat but Simpson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Grazies is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Simpson is just riding it out for now. Grazies eventually gives up the hold.

Grazies gets tackled into the cage by Simpson. Simpson maintains the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Simpson.
Simpson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Simpson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Simpson swings wildly with an uppercut but Grazies uses good head movement to avoid it.

Simpson throws a head punch that misses.
Grazies lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Grazies is looking to advance position but Simpson won't allow it.
Grazies seems to be working for a kimura but Simpson defends the submission attempt.
Grazies uses his free foot to push down on Simpson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Simpson.

Grazies goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Simpson turns into him and now he's in Grazies's guard.
Grazies isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Simpson stacks Grazies on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Simpson!

Simpson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Grazies is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Simpson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Simpson's back!
