The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Born tries for a takedown but Horowitz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Born is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Horowitz's half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Born stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Horowitz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Horowitz jabs Born to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Born takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Born tries to score a power double leg takedown but Horowitz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Born somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Born. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Born closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Born lands in his opponent's guard.

Horowitz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Born. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
