Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petria McTroo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McTroo is fighting off a takedown attempt but Calderon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McTroo to the mat. McTroo regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Petria McTroo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

McTroo wants to get back to his feet but Calderon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Felipe Calderon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Calderon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear McTroo down.

Calderon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
