PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Dew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks comes to the cage accompanied by ZAO - the psalm of the city of the dead.. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dew connects with a crisp jab.

Dew has managed to clinch.

Brooks is trying to pull guard but Dew turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Dew's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brooks is trying to drag Dew to the mat but Dew just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dew lands a left and a right that send Brooks crashing to the mat, dazed. Dew thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Brooks counters with a single leg into guard. Dew didn't expect that.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

A looping hook to the body misses from Dew. Brooks does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dew lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Brooks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dew throws a series of strikes that have Brooks backpedaling.
Dew lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brooks circles away quickly and effectively.
Dew missing with a left hand there. Brooks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

A slapping leg kick lands for Brooks.

Dew lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brooks circles away quickly and effectively.
Brooks throws a push kick but Dew slaps the foot to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brooks has gone for a leg lock! Dew slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brooks's guard.

That's time! Brooks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brooks looks for the body kick but Dew saw that one coming.

Dew scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brooks doesn't seem bothered though.

Brooks doesn't manage to clinch there - Dew circles away.

The crowd cheers as Dew lands an impressive looking overhand right. Brooks doesn't seem phased though.
Brooks doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Brooks dives in and grabs Dew's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dew pushes down on Brooks's head and hops out.

Brooks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dew uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Brooks has time to react.
