Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tane Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thompson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to it was over. Hunt has chosen Comfortably Numb as his entrance music. Merik Hunt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tane Thompson's chin.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hunt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hunt thuds his right hand into Thompson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Thompson misses with a looping left.
Hunt throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hunt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hunt lands in his opponent's guard.
Thompson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hunt throws a big elbow that misses.
Hunt passes Thompson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Thompson is not content to let Hunt control the position.
Thompson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Thompson wants to improve his position but Hunt is controlling well.
Hunt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thompson keeps working.

Thompson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hunt pulls his head out easily.
Thompson is staying active underneath Hunt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hunt wants to control but Thompson is keeping him busy.
Hunt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hunt prevents Thompson from improving his position.
Thompson is not content to let Hunt control the position.
Merik Hunt has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hunt scores with a jab. Thompson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Hunt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Thompson, right into the meat.
Thompson scores with the left hand. Hunt knows he should have avoided that one.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson throws a leg kick that is checked
and Hunt connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Thompson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hunt throws the left hand but Thompson avoids the punch easily.
Thompson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hunt will feel that in the morning.
Thompson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hunt takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Tane Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Thompson is predictable there
and Hunt counters with a stiff right hand.
Thompson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hunt.
Thompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hunt slips under a jab from Thompson.
A low kick from Thompson misses
and Hunt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thompson won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hunt lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Thompson down.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Thompson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Thompson is not content to let Hunt control the position.
Thompson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hunt wants to get back to full guard but Thompson has mounted him!

Hunt is desperately trying to improve his position but Thompson has a good base and remains in mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hunt can't escape the position.
Hunt sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hunt is trying to get back to full guard.
Thompson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nice strikes from Thompson there.
Hunt has hold of Thompson's hands but Thompson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tane Thompson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hunt avoids a kick to the body.
Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hunt closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thompson to the mat! Thompson manages to get full guard.
Thompson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hunt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thompson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Thompson controlling the position.
Thompson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hunt throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Thompson's body to avoid the submission. Thompson has instead reached around Hunt's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thompson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tane Thompson!
