Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malaki Isafoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Isafoa has chosen The Offspring - Come Out And Play (Keep Em' Seperated) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Josh Alexander has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Isafoa as Alexander shoots in.
Isafoa throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Isafoa throws a sloppy head kick and Alexander moves out of range easily.

Alexander feints and as Isafoa raises his hands in defense, Alexander changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Isafoa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alexander can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Alexander passes Isafoa's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Isafoa is trying to maintain the position but Alexander is very close to passing his half guard.

Alexander is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Isafoa defends it well.
Alexander is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Isafoa is looking to improve his position but Alexander isn't that keen on the idea.
Isafoa tries to lock up and control but Alexander gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Alexander moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Isafoa has worked his arm free - good work by Isafoa!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Isafoa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Alexander tries to advance to mount but Isafoa denies him.
Isafoa can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Isafoa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Alexander kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Isafoa tries to buck Alexander off but Alexander is having none of it.
Isafoa avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Alexander.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Alexander misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Alexander is breathing heavily.
Alexander throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Alexander fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Isafoa sprawls well initially but Alexander persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Alexander is looking for a kimura but Isafoa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alexander to get the leverage.
Isafoa wants to control but Alexander is keeping busy.
Isafoa regains full guard. Nicely done.
Isafoa is trying to control the position but Alexander postures up.

Isafoa has his foot on Alexander's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alexander works his way back into a safe position though.
Isafoa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alexander manages to get himself to full guard.
Isafoa is pushing down on Alexander's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alexander is fighting to maintain full guard but Isafoa has managed to sneak the leg through.

Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Isafoa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alexander wants to hit a switch here but Isafoa passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Alexander there!
Alexander is desperately trying to improve his position but Isafoa has a good base and remains in mount.
Isafoa lands a big shot there that rocks Alexander but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Alexander is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Malaki Isafoa will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Alexander uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Isafoa.
Alexander keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Isafoa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Isafoa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Alexander looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Alexander has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Isafoa doesn't defend quickly enough and Alexander has managed to lock this one up! Can Isafoa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alexander on a fantastic submission victory.
