Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Tillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thracian Spartacus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Tillman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thracian Spartacus!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tillman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Spartacus explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Tillman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spartacus was covering up waiting for the punch and Tillman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Spartacus looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Spartacus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tillman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Spartacus tries to land a sweep but no joy.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Thracian Spartacus hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tillman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Spartacus.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tillman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Thracian Spartacus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spartacus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice sprawl there from Tillman as Spartacus shoots in.
Spartacus misses with a takedown attempt - Tillman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Marcus Tillman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thracian Spartacus.
Nice takedown defense from Tillman. No joy for Spartacus on that attempt.
Spartacus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tillman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spartacus somewhat.
Spartacus takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Spartacus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tillman as he jumps to the side.

Tillman dives in and grabs Spartacus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spartacus pushes down on Tillman's head and hops out.
Spartacus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tillman's half guard.
Tillman looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Spartacus throwing shots but Tillman is blocking nicely.
Tillman is trying to maintain the position but Spartacus is very close to passing his half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spartacus is looking to take a break and control but Tillman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tillman moves into full guard.
Spartacus distracts Tillman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tillman looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Spartacus puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Spartacus is trying to control the action in half guard but Tillman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Spartacus thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tillman's head.
Spartacus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tillman is refusing to be controlled, as Spartacus sits in half guard.

Tillman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spartacus on the ground.

Spartacus is trying to get an arm triangle but Tillman is defending well.

Tillman is looking to regain half guard here but Spartacus keeps moving and retains side control.
Spartacus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spartacus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spartacus is working Tillman over with some ground and pound from side control.
Spartacus has hold of Tillman's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tillman seems comfortable defending it but Spartacus has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tillman is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tillman is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Spartacus couldn't care less - he's delighted!
