Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dingo Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn has chosen deftones-simple man as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dingo Penn!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Penn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dingo Penn wasn't active enough on the ground.

Nice straight punches there by Curtis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Curtis.
Penn has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Penn there as he acknowledges the shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Curtis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Curtis tries to hold on but Penn pushes him away.

Curtis is squirming around, avoiding Penn's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Curtis's waist but Curtis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side.

Penn misses with a takedown attempt - Curtis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Curtis misses with a low kick.
Curtis leaves Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Curtis counters with a nice body shot.
Curtis tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Penn is able to avoid easily.

Curtis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Dingo Penn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Curtis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Curtis throws a leg kick which misses Penn's front leg but catches the back leg as Penn tries to avoid it.
Curtis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Penn checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Curtis but Curtis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Curtis cracks a nice hook into Penn's ribs.

Curtis keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Curtis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Penn content to stall in guard here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Curtis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Penn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Curtis throws a hook but Penn blocks it.

Curtis is looking for a sweep. Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dingo Penn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A head kick misses from Penn.
Curtis throws a front kick aimed at Penn's knee but Penn avoids it well.
Penn dives in and grabs Curtis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Curtis pushes down on Penn's head and hops out.

Curtis throws a leg kick which misses Penn's front leg but catches the back leg as Penn tries to avoid it.

Penn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Curtis avoids it really well and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Curtis.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jackson Curtis will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Penn tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Curtis's corner calls for a 1-2. Curtis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Curtis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Curtis throws a leg kick but Penn sees it coming and moves out of range.

Penn shoots for a double leg takedown but Curtis sprawls well. He's pushed Penn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Penn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Curtis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Penn scrambles back to his feet.

Penn walks into a left hand.
Curtis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Penn's hands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A lazy body kick from Penn
and Curtis counters with a nice leg kick.
Penn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Curtis as he jumps to the side.
Curtis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Penns jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A bone on bone clash there as Penn blocks the leg kick.
An inside leg kick from Curtis misses.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Curtis which made him look bad.

Penn is trying to control the action in half guard but Curtis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Curtis is refusing to be controlled, as Penn sits in half guard.

Penn throws a sloppy head kick and Curtis moves out of range easily.

Penn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Curtis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Penn just content to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Curtis tries to bench press Penn off him but Penn keeps the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
