Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Synephrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers comes into the arena with Anthem of Kings blaring out of the sound system. Synephrine has chosen Hammerfall - Hearts On Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Synephrine takes one on the button.

It looks like Sam Synephrine has been cut.
Mathers throws a jab when Synephrine was well out of range.

Synephrine closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mathers did well to prevent Synephrine getting side control.
Synephrine wants to take a breather but Mathers is having none of it.

Mathers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Synephrine to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Synephrine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Synephrine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Synephrine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mathers is just riding it out for now. Synephrine eventually gives up the hold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Synephrine has hold of Mathers's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mathers manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marshall Mathers will probably get the nod.

Synephrine shoots for a double leg takedown but Mathers sprawls well. He's pushed Synephrine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
