The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves to clinch but Mack breaks away

and Mack counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Mack gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting.
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mack counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mack is controlling him.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mack controls the pace.
Mack tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Mack thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mack seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mack slips nicely into half guard.
Mack frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Mack is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Silva is forced to tap! Great finish!
