Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Pouncy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neo Trinity (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Pouncy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neo Trinity!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pouncy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Trinity manages to get back to half guard.

Trinity looking for submissions off his back.
Pouncy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trinity on the ground.
Trinity trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trinity is looking to improve his position.
Pouncy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Pouncy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Pouncy prevents Trinity from improving his position.

Pouncy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pouncy controlling the pace.
Trinity wants to control but Pouncy is keeping busy.
Pouncy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Pouncy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Trinity for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Marcus Pouncy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Pouncy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trinity's guard.
Trinity is trying to keep Pouncy in close.
Pouncy tries to free his leg and advance position but Trinity is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marcus Pouncy wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Trinity closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pouncy circles away.
Trinity tries for a takedown but Pouncy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Trinity shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pouncy but Pouncy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Marcus Pouncy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neo Trinity.

Pouncy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Trinity quickly recovers to half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pouncy lands a nice short elbow.

Pouncy looking for a submission but Trinity manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Pouncy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pouncy throwing strikes but missing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pouncy trying to control the position from guard on top but Trinity is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pouncy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pouncy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pouncy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Trinity wants to get back to full guard.
Pouncy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Marcus Pouncy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
No luck for Trinity with that takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Pouncy as Trinity shoots in.
Trinity is breathing heavily.
Pouncy tries a head kick but it misses.
Trinity shoots in but no luck this time.
Marcus Pouncy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neo Trinity.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pouncy tries a body shot but Trinity blocks it.

Trinity is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pouncy to keep the fight standing.

Pouncy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pouncy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Pouncy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Trinity sprawls well initially but Pouncy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Trinity is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pouncy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pouncy is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well, if Pouncy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Trinity gets tackled into the cage by Pouncy. Pouncy maintains the clinch.
Pouncy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Trinity is trying to pull guard but Pouncy has him pressed against the cage.

Pouncy gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Pouncy throwing shots but Trinity is blocking nicely.

Pouncy stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Trinity to get to his feet.
Trinity tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pouncy swivels and escapes.

Pouncy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Trinity to the ground. Pouncy is now in Trinity's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trinity tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pouncy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pouncy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Trinity is looking for a sweep. Pouncy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Trinity is looking to control Pouncy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Trinity avoid being mounted?

Trinity keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Pouncy is working for a submission of some sort.
Trinity is trying to get back to full guard.
Pouncy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Trinity trying to hold on to Pouncy's head to control him but Pouncy postures up.
Trinity won't allow Pouncy to pass to mount.
Trinity is looking to control Pouncy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Trinity avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up. Neo Trinity was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pouncy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Trinity napping and manages to drive through into side control!

and Pouncy counters with a single leg into guard. Trinity didn't expect that.
Neo Trinity has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
