The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gniewomirski takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A telegraphed right hand from Matlock misses the target.
Matlock paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Matlock swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Matlock scores with a jab to the head.
Matlock wants to slow Gniewomirski down by chopping away at his legs.
Matlock misses with a double jab

and Gniewomirski counters with a shoot takedown. Matlock fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gniewomirski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gniewomirski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gniewomirski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Matlock is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gniewomirski, into his guard.

Gniewomirski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Matlock wanted to stand there but Gniewomirski had control of the position.

Gniewomirski pushes a forearm under Matlock's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Matlock is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
