The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMichaels misses with a double jab
and Yashigawa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Yashigawa throws a one two combo.
Yashigawa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yashigawa wants it to stay on the feet.

Yashigawa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McMichaels tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yashigawa is in McMichaels's guard.

McMichaels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yashigawa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yashigawa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McMichaels is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Yashigawa frees his head nicely. Oh but McMichaels has switched to an armbar! Yashigawa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
