Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcio Amaral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Gracie looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcio Amaral!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amaral plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Amaral shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Amaral jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gracie is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gracie and Amaral has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Amaral keeps moving and retains side control.

Amaral moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Amaral bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Amaral has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Amaral shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Amaral finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amaral must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Amaral closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Amaral getting side control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Marcio Amaral hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gracie tries to keep at a distance but Amaral has taken the fight into the clinch.

Marcio Amaral showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Amaral feints and then cracks Gracie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gracie down.

Marcio Amaral is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kevin Gracie just wasn't active enough.

Amaral manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gracie on his heels. He'll look to pass Gracie's guard now, I'm sure.

I would just about give that final round to Marcio Amaral.
Well Amaral has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
