The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanovcan avoids the head kick by Rich.

Rich fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vanovcan sprawls well initially but Rich persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Still in half guard, Rich seems content to control.
Vanovcan manages to get to full guard.
Vanovcan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Vanovcan tries to land a sweep but no joy.

and Rich counters with a straight right hand.
Rich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Vanovcan slips a jab and a cross from Rich.

Rich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Vanovcan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rich pulls his head out easily.
