And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marinho doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gomez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Marinho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gomez preventing the sweep.
Gomez throws a big elbow that misses.
Marinho trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Marinho looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Marinho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gomez trying to control but Marinho is working from the bottom.
Gomez stops Marinho from standing up.
Gomez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gomez trying to control the position from guard on top but Marinho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gomez drops back looking for a leg! Marinho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Marinho manages to kick Gomez off! Gomez jumps back into Marinho's guard.
Marinho pulls Gomez in close to prevent any damage.

Gomez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marinho manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gomez has Marinho in his guard.
Gomez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Marinho trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gomez fails with the takedown.
Gomez closes the distance and clinches up with Marinho, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes Marinho against the cage but Marinho circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lucas Marinho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gomez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marinho is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marinho has escaped and now he's on top!
Marinho is sitting in close to Gomez's body. Gomez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Marinho is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Marinho is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gomez.
