Hearns kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is System Of a Down - Chop Suey!. Flava Flave will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearns misses with a double jab
and Flave counters with a right hand to the body.

Flave thows a body shot but no joy.
No joy there for Flave, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hearns walks into a jab.
Hearns avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hearns throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hearns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hearns punishes Flave's body with a nice straight punch.
Hearns takes one to the side of the head.
Flave tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hearns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Flave throws a nice looking combination but Hearns bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Flave keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Hearns. No joy for Flave on that attempt.
Flave tries to close the distance and clinch but Hearns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Flave is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hearns to keep the fight standing.
Flave tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hearns smiles and moves away.

Flave throws a hook to the side of Hearns's head but Hearns sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Flave counters with a nice body shot.
Flave displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hearns throws out the jab.

Flave throws the left hand but Hearns avoids the punch easily.
A clash of legs there as Flave blocks the low kick.

Hearns misses with a looping right.
Flave misses with a looping left.
Hearns throws a low kick but it's checked well by Flave.
Flave scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Flave fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hearns manages to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hearns throws a series of punches but Flave moves out of range.
Flave shoots in looking for a takedown. Hearns tries to sprawl out of it but Flave keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hearns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Flave is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hearns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Flave tries to close the distance and clinch but Hearns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Flave drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Flave tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Flave has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Flave working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flave has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hearns is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Flave yanks on the arm and Hearns is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Flave.
