Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Redding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Jef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Redding!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Larry Jef!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jef.
Jef throws a front kick that sends Redding stumbling back into the cage.
Jef should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jef - that will leave a mark!

Redding clinches.

Redding gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jef trying to control here.
Redding is looking to take a break and control but Jef is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Redding missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Redding wants to stand up but Jef has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redding wants to take a breather but Jef is having none of it.

Redding is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jef trying to control here.
Jef avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Redding.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Redding.
Redding tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jef knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Redding prevents Jef from standing back up.
Jef won't allow Redding to pass to mount.
Jef has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Redding is working away from the top position though.

Redding is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Jef as he works his way to full guard.
Redding wants to control from the top but Jef keeps moving.

Redding is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jef has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Redding is looking to defend but Jef has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Redding! Jef pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Redding taps out and this one is all over!
