PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fadi Rymad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rymad comes to the cage accompanied by The Beast. On his way into the cage it seems that Fadi Rymad has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Fadi Rymad seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rymad shoots in and gets a takedown into Cannon's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cannon working for a triangle but Rymad defends it easily.
Cannon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rymad would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cannon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rymad defends well.
Cannon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rymad wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving.

Cannon throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rymad escapes and throws Cannon's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Rymad wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cannon keeps working.
Rymad has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Rymad controlling the pace for now.
Cannon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cannon tries to hold on but Rymad pushes him away.
Cannon is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rymad pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Rymad landing strikes, looking to finish!
Cannon looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rymad breaks from Cannon's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Rymad moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cannon has worked his arm free - good work by Cannon!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rymad is trying to get an arm triangle but Cannon is defending well.

Rymad decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cannon to his feet.
Rymad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cannon's waist but Cannon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rymad off to one side.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rymad closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cannon quickly recovers to half guard.
Rymad prevents Cannon from improving his position.
Rymad is looking to take a break and control but Cannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rymad throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cannon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rymad has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Rymad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cannon working to try and regain half guard.

Rymad lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
BOOM! Rymad connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Cannon taking shots to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rymad working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Cannon looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Rymad! Submission of the night perhaps?
