Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mars comes to the cage accompanied by Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare. Alex Voss has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mars misses with a looping right.
Voss with a poor takedown
and Mars counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Voss doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mars counters with a left to the body.

Voss looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mars!
Voss thowing shots but they're missing.
Mars is looking to get to half guard.
Voss trying to control but Mars is having none of it.
Mars blocking the ground and pound.
Mars slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Voss not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Well, if Voss is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mars manages to get to full guard.
Voss trying to control but Mars is working from the bottom.
Mars tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Mars looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mars looking to hit a scissor sweep but Voss is one step ahead there.
Mars has momentary wrist control but Voss slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Voss throws a big elbow that misses.
Mars has control of Voss's left arm, preventing Voss from doing any damage.

Mars has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Voss can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mars keeping moving, preventing Voss from controlling successfully.
Mars is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Voss on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mars drops an elbow to the side of Voss's head.
Voss gets back to full guard.

Voss is looking to sinch up a triangle. Mars throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Voss's body to avoid the submission. Voss has instead reached around Mars's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Voss arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
