Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Dodson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Brandao looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Brandao misses with a takedown attempt
and Dodson counters with a three punch combo that has Brandao backing up. Brandao nods at Dodson to acknowledge the strikes.
Brandao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dodson pinned against the cage. Dodson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brandao tries to clinch up but Dodson circles away and keeps his distance.

Dodson feints a jab promting Brandao to slip. Dodson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Brandao slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Dodson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brandao looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Dodson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dodson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dodson can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brandao pushes a forearm under Dodson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dodson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
