Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gancho Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Jesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gancho Santos!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos throws a shot from downtown. Jesus moves away and avoids it.
Jesus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jesus loads up on a big right hand but Santos slips the punch.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jesus's waist but Jesus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.
Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Jesus tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jesus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Santos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Santos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jesus.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jesus.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jesus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jesus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Santos tries to bench press Jesus off him but Jesus keeps the position.

Jesus swings around for an armbar but Santos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jesus's guard.

Jesus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Santos defends it easily.

Santos wants to get up but he can't break Jesus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jesus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jesus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Santos controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jesus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Santos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Santos advances position into side control!
Jesus tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Santos controlling from side mount.
Jesus is working to avoid the ground and pound but Santos connects with a decent elbow.

Jesus is looking to regain half guard here but Santos keeps moving and retains side control.
Santos advances nicely into full mount.
Jesus is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Santos wants to take Jesus's back but he can't do it this time.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Santos lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jesus's sensitive parts.

Santos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jesus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet.
Jesus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gancho Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Santos gets caught flat footed, as Jesus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Santos is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Santos has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jesus off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Santos counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Jesus ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jesus no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Santos is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jesus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Jesus's legs - danger averted.

Santos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jesus looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Santos has picked Jesus up and slammed him! Jesus can't keep hold of the triangle and Santos manages to pass to side control!

Santos decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A combination from Jesus does no damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jesus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Santos slips nicely into half guard.
Jose Jesus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jesus is looking to control Santos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jesus avoid being mounted?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santos is pressing down on Jesus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jesus is holding on for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gancho Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
