Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kazuyuki Shimizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elvis Ronan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ronan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Promised Land. Elvis Ronan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimizu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Shimizu throws an overhand right that lands on Ronan's shoulder, as Ronan tries to avoid the shot.
Elvis Ronan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shimizu throws a lazy right hand but Ronan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ronan throws the kick towards the body but Shimizu avoids it.
Ronan misses with a looping right.
Shimizu throws out a loose jab but Ronan uses good head movement to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ronan. Shimizu does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ronan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shimizu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Ronan misses the target.
Shimizu throws a leg kick which misses Ronan's front leg but catches the back leg as Ronan tries to avoid it.
A low kick from Ronan is predictable there
and Shimizu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Elvis Ronan has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shimizu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Shimizu takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Shimizu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ronan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ronan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ronan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ronan duly obliges.
It looks like Kazuyuki Shimizu has been cut.
Donk. Shimizu catches Ronan right on the button with a cross.
Shimizu throws a shot from downtown. Ronan moves away and avoids it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ronan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shimizu manages to avoid it.
Ronan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ronan ducks under a wild hook from Shimizu.

Ronan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ronan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Shimizu rather than just go for the knockout.
Ronan just misses with a punch to the body.

and Shimizu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Shimizu cracks the inside of Ronan's front leg.
Shimizu wants to land a leg kick but Ronan is out of range.

Ronan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shimizu manages to avoid it.
Ronan bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shimizu's head backwards.

Ronan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ronan takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Ronan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shimizu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Shimizu throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Ronan looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shimizu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jab, jab by Shimizu - just one landing.
That has opened up Elvis Ronan's cut even more.
Ronan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shimizu.
Shimizu is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Shimizu lands with a good body shot.
Shimizu cracks Ronan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Shimizu lands a nice shot to the body.
Shimizu throws a good cross that connects.
Shimizu is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Shimizu fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shimizu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Shimizu cracks Ronan with a right hand to the side of the head.

Ronan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shimizu misses with a straight left.
Shimizu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ronan. That did some damage!
Shimizu lands a jab to Ronan's midsection.
Shimizu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ronan.
Shimizu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Ronan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ronan defending well as Shimizu loads up on a big left hand.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shimizu.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ronan takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Shimizu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ronan's calf.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kazuyuki Shimizu dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Shimizu throws a good cross that connects.
Shimizu slips a straight right by Ronan.
Shimizu throws a front kick that sends Ronan stumbling back into the cage.
Shimizu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ronan's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Ronan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ronan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Ronan might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Shimizu has got the better of the exchanges.

Ronan is breathing heavily.

and Shimizu counters with an inside leg kick.

Shimizu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Shimizu thumps Ronan with a low kick.
Shimizu lands a left and a right that send Ronan crashing to the mat, dazed. Shimizu thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The cut above Elvis Ronan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shimizu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ronan's calf.
Shimizu closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Ronan out cold! Ronan corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kazuyuki Shimizu!
