Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolf Winkler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into the arena with Eminem - Fuck blaring out of the sound system. Jon Johnson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rolf Winkler!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Winkler.
Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Winkler's hands.


It looks like Rolf Winkler has been cut.
Johnson connects with a single shot there.

Johnson darts in and clinches Winkler up against the cage.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Winkler keeps him there for the moment.

Johnson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Winkler uses from the top position.
Winkler is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Winkler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Winkler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Winkler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Winkler won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.

Jon Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rolf Winkler.

Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson has picked Winkler up - he's going for a ride! Johnson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Winkler makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Winkler.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Winkler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Winkler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Winkler takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
It looks like Winkler might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Winkler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Winkler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winkler paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Winkler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Winkler finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Winkler lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Winkler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Winkler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Winkler passes Johnson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Winkler is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Winkler preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Winkler manages to get to full guard.
Winkler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
Winkler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Winkler advances position into side control!

Winkler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rolf Winkler has got the better of the ground game so far.

Johnson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Winkler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Winkler throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Winkler breaks the hold and Johnson is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Winkler!
