Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Nwachukwu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eissa Junior!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Junior throws a leg kick
and Nwachukwu counters with a slapping leg kick.
Nwachukwu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Junior.
Nwachukwu ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Junior shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nwachukwu but Nwachukwu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
John Nwachukwu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eissa Junior.
Junior looks gassed!

Junior dives in and scores a takedown into Nwachukwu's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Junior trying to control but Nwachukwu is working from the bottom.
Nwachukwu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nwachukwu has his hands on Junior's head, controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Nwachukwu wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Junior takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Junior tries to close the distance and clinch but Nwachukwu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Nwachukwu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nwachukwu throws a good cross that connects.
Junior takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Eissa Junior has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nwachukwu connects with a leg kick. Junior looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Junior doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nwachukwu scores with a counter punch that sends Junior to the canvas! Nwachukwu smells blood - he's punishing Junior with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Junior has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Nwachukwu!
John Nwachukwu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
