Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guara Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guara Grove will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guara Grove!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Bashor closes the distance and clinches up with Grove, looking for a takedown. Bashor pushes Grove against the cage but Grove circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bashor shoots in for a takedown but Grove shows good takedown defense.
A solid body kick from Grove.
A head kick misses from Grove.

Grove has closed the distance and engaged Bashor in a clinch.
Grove prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Bashor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Grove escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bashor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grove as he avoids it easily.
Grove wants to clinch up but Bashor keeps it at a distance.
Grove misses with a head kick.
Grove displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bashor.

Grove plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Grove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Grove throws a head kick that half lands.
Bashor takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Grove tries to clinch there but Bashor circles away.
Grove misses with a head kick.
Grove fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bashor steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Grove. That one must have hurt.

Bashor on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Bashor. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Grove throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Jason Bashor has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A head kick from Grove lands but Bashor takes it in his stride.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Grove enables Bashor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grove manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bashor is in close to Grove's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Bashor is stalling in the full guard.
Grove wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bashor is now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Still in half guard, Bashor seems content to control.
Bashor seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grove for as long as he can get away with.
Grove is in trouble now - Bashor has advanced to mount!
Bashor is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Grove tries to hold on but Bashor postures up.
Grove is trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grove wants to hold on but Bashor pushes him away.

Bashor has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Grove's face.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grove can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bashor quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Bashor but it's paid off an Grove is forced to tap! Nice work by Bashor.
