Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oddie Olias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny McBride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oddie Olias!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olias tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McBride paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Olias changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McBride looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McBride is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
McBride keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Olias is looking to advance position but McBride won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McBride is controlling Olias's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Olias wants to control but McBride is keeping him busy.
Olias might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McBride kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McBride tries to get to full guard but Olias has control of the leg.

Oddie Olias has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Olias feints and as McBride raises his hands in defense, Olias changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Olias wants to pass the guard but McBride is keeping the position.
Olias must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Olias is looking to work some ground and pound but McBride has wrist control.
McBride looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McBride trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Olias wants to get up but he can't break McBride's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McBride lands a good elbow from the bottom.
McBride is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
McBride manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Olias is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McBride is riding his opponent, not letting Olias buck him off.
McBride punches Olias on the ear.
McBride has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McBride is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Olias has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but McBride has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Olias taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. McBride doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Johnny McBride!
Johnny McBride decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
