Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marius Gaskauskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richie Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richie Owens will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marius Gaskauskis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richie Owens!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens dives in and grabs Gaskauskis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gaskauskis pushes down on Owens's head and hops out.
Owens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gaskauskis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Owens tries to clinch up but Gaskauskis circles away and keeps his distance.

Owens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaskauskis to the mat! Gaskauskis manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gaskauskis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gaskauskis controls Owens momentarily but Owens frees himself.
Owens stands and throws Gaskauskis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Gaskauskis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Owens on the ground.
Owens content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Let's hope that Owens has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gaskauskis tries to bench press Owens off him but Owens keeps the position.
Gaskauskis struggling a bit here.
Owens content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
It looks like Owens might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gaskauskis tries to bench press Owens off him but Owens keeps the position.

Richie Owens has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Owens moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gaskauskis scores with the left hand. Owens knows he should have avoided that one.
Gaskauskis scores with a jab to the body.
Owens fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gaskauskis tests Owens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Owens moves in looking to clinch but Gaskauskis pushes him off.
Gaskauskis lands a right hook to the body.
Gaskauskis thuds a left hand into Owens's body.

Gaskauskis has closed the distance and engaged Owens in a clinch.
Gaskauskis tries to throw a body punch but Owens avoids it by throwing Gaskauskis back against the cage.
Gaskauskis stalling in the clinch.
Gaskauskis throws a punch but it's blocked by Owens.
Gaskauskis swings wildly with an uppercut but Owens uses good head movement to avoid it.
Owens tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gaskauskis smiles and moves away.
Marius Gaskauskis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richie Owens.
Owens gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gaskauskis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Owens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Owens throws a body punch but Gaskauskis moves out of range.
Owens dives in and grabs Gaskauskis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gaskauskis pushes down on Owens's head and hops out.
Gaskauskis cracks Owens with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gaskauskis connects with a single shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gaskauskis lands with a good body shot.

Gaskauskis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Owens, pushing him back against the cage.
Gaskauskis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Owens lands a body shot.
Gaskauskis misses with a hook from the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Owens fails to pull guard.
Gaskauskis misses with a punch on the inside.
Gaskauskis has a couple of punches blocked by Owens.
Gaskauskis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gaskauskis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gaskauskis tries to stall but Owens uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Gaskauskis swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gaskauskis leaning his opponent against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marius Gaskauskis dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gaskauskis tries to close the distance and clinch but Owens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gaskauskis tries to clinch but Owens moves out of range.
Owens tries for a takedown but Gaskauskis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Owens shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gaskauskis sprawls well. Gaskauskis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Owens gets slowly back to his feet.

Gaskauskis swings wildly with an uppercut but Owens uses good head movement to avoid it.

Owens tries to break free but Gaskauskis pushes him back against the cage.
Gaskauskis tries a body shot but Owens blocks it.
Owens is trying to maintain a safe position but Gaskauskis gets an underhook and turns Owens into the cage.

Gaskauskis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Owens wants to break free but Gaskauskis has control.
Gaskauskis fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gaskauskis stalling the fight.
Gaskauskis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Owens blocking some punches.

Owens fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Marius Gaskauskis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richie Owens.

Owens manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gaskauskis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Owens pushes a forearm under Gaskauskis's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Gaskauskis is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
