Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Spoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spoon takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kyle closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Spoon did well to prevent Kyle getting side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kyle wants to free his trapped foot but Spoon is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kyle is working for a submission of some sort.
Kyle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Spoon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kyle has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Spoon is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kyle unloads with some shots from mount but Spoon bucks and avoids them well.
Kyle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Spoon tries to hold on but Kyle pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Spoon is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Tom Kyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kyle is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Spoon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Spoon!

Spoon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kyle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spoon, into his guard.

Kyle decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A thudding body kick lands there by Spoon!

Spoon closes the distance and clinches.
Spoon lands a nice uppercut.

Spoon lands a good knee to the midsection. Kyle won't want to take too many of those.
Kyle is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spoon is defending well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spoon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kyle stands and steps away. Spoon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kyle looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kyle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kyle leaves Spoon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kyle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Spoon's guard.
Spoon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kyle lands a couple of decent looking shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kyle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's time! Kyle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Spoon stops a takedown attempt from Kyle.
Spoon is trying to pull guard but Kyle turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kyle is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spoon is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Kyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kyle gets underhooks to prevent Spoon's takedown attempt.
Kyle wants to break free but Spoon has control.
Kyle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Spoon is pressed up against the cage. Kyle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Spoon down to the mat. Spoon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Spoon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kyle's waist but Kyle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spoon off to one side.

Kyle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Spoon on his heels. He'll look to pass Spoon's guard now, I'm sure.

James Spoon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Kyle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
