St John comes to the cage accompanied by Wherever I May Roam. Kontos has chosen Stelio Kontos as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cameron St John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stelio Kontos!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontos missing with a left hand there. St John was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kontos misses with a wild combination.

St John shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. St John showed some decent athleticism there.

Kontos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but St John pulls his head out easily.
St John lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
St John with the ground and pound but Kontos uses the opportunity to regain guard.

St John avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

St John got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kontos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, St John has managed to get both his arms back between Kontos's legs - danger averted.
St John tries to free his leg and advance position but Kontos is retaining full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
St John is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kontos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. St John doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. St John manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's one minute gone in the round.
St John makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Kontos trying to keep a closed guard but St John is proving a slippery customer.
Kontos keeping moving, preventing St John from controlling successfully.
St John passes Kontos's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
St John is trying to control. Kontos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kontos tries to regain full guard. Instead though, St John has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
St John prevents Kontos from getting the reversal.
St John in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


It looks like Stelio Kontos has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
St John has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kontos's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
St John can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kontos is looking to escape.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kontos tries to hold on but St John postures up.
St John lands a big elbow.


The cut above Stelio Kontos's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Stelio Kontos's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Cameron St John!
An out of breath Cameron St John thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
